DIY pretty "flower" hair clip

You know, I love fall.  Less heat, crisp air, and windy days.  Gosh, it's great!!! With all this pretty weather, I had to take photos for this tutorial outside.
This was a super simple project that only took about 20 minutes, and it turns out super cute.  I got the idea from places like Pinterest and from these cool pins on Anthropologie.

Anthro.

Used in making these clips is something called a yoyo. No, not the kind on a string.  I'm talking about the kind used in these awesome quilts:

These are surprisingly easy to make.  All you will need is some fabric, thread, a needle, a bobby pin, and a button.

Start by cutting a circle from your fabric.  The circle needs to be twice as big as the size you want the yoyo to be, so make sure you have enough.  Once you have cut your circle, fold over the edges and hand stitch all the way around.  The larger your stitches, the smaller the hole in the center will be.  The smaller your stitches, the larger the hole will be.

Once you have sewed all the way around, pull the thread until it folds in on itself and scrunches up in the middle.  See what I meant about the stitch size and the hole size?

After that, you can add on the bobby pin and button.  Make sure it's secure, and you're good to go!

You could use fancier buttons, glitter, etc. to change it up.  I think these would look cool pinned to a bag or a hat!  Just substitute the bobby pin for a safety pin and stick it on.

Here's a handy "pinnable" pic for Pinterest:

As always, have a great week!
Cheers,
